Hoppy Spring on the Farm Session Preview

The recent warm weather gave me the bug to get out there and do some Spring photo sessions.  As I mentioned in a previous post, I got together with Fern Valley Farm in Bristol to schedule several days of sessions with their wonderful farm animals (baby chicks, bunnies, goats, etc.).  After putting the Hoppy Spring on the Farm Mini Sessions together, I wanted to give people an idea of what they might expect to get for their $50.  So Aiden and I took a trip out to the Farm last week to do some test shots.  His friend Lucas joined in on the fun too.  Here are a few shots from the morning. Enjoy!

New business card!!!

I'm a little too excited about the new business card I designed. I am a bit of a paper-holic. Yes, I must admit that I am addicted to anything paper...or actually anything that is remotely related to paper. Actually let's just say I am addicted to office supplies in general. Yes, that basically covers it.

Hoppy Spring {Specials}

OK. So I realize it's like 28 degrees outside, but Spring IS just around the corner. And what better way to celebrate than a trip to the farm?  Kids LOVE animals, especially baby ones. So I decided to partner up with one of my favorite local farms - Fern Valley Farm in Bristol, VA.

This summer, my daughter Bella attended one of their week-long farm camps for kids.  She had a BLAST taking care of the animals, learning about life on a farm and recycling, making her own lunch with healthy ingredients, and doing craft after craft. She heads back to the farm this weekend for one of their monthly farm days and she couldn't be more excited.  Owners Lynn and Larry Bauer have a special quality about them that make kids just want to learn more about the environment around them and being healthy.  And all of the friendly animals wandering around the farm don't hurt either!

So that got me thinking... the best way to get great natural pictures is to have a relaxed subject. Easier said than done with children who may not know the photographer, right moms? And the best way to get a child to relax is to let him have fun. I can't think of something more fun and natural than a day playing with some animals at the farm.  Wouldn't that make your kid smile? I know mine would have silly ear to ear grins :)

So, here are the details...

$50 gets you a 15 minute mini-session as your child interacts with the animals. I will also have an old Radio Flyer red wagon on hand and some other props we can use if needed or desired.  You get 10 fully edited digital images on a CD so you can print or upload as you like.  Prints and products can be purchased at a later date if you so desire. Please see the Product tab for additional prices.

******** If you book your session TODAY (2/7) and I receive your deposit within 5 days, you will receive 10% off.****************

In addition to the live animals and other props...one thing that always makes pictures really adorable is accessories.  And the number one accessory in kids photography is a cute hat.  They can be hard to find in local stores and are really expensive online, usually $25 and up.  I just happen to know a wonderful woman who crochets these adorable things and has offered to make several at a discount to coordinate with this spring special.  Prices will range from $10-$20 depending on the style.  The following are available:
Bunny Hat (with cute long bunny ears)
Frog (with cute earflaps)
Easter Chick
Ladybug
Lamb
Custom Beanie (you pick the colors) - great for girls or little boys
Custom Beanie with detachable flower

If you are interested in adding a custom made hat to your session, please let me know the style, size, and colors when you book your session. If you would like a sample picture to help you decide, just let me know.

I can't wait to get out there and see their smiling faces as they welcome Spring.  Contact me ASAP for questions and to reserve your spot. Hope to see you there!
